A tailored plan for Lexington County’s youngest learners

We’re part of the larger state agency South Carolina First Steps. The unique agency structure provides high level resources, but empowers us to operate in a way that best meets the needs of Lexington County families. Each of South Carolina’s communities are different, we tailor programs and activities based on our local evaluation of needs and resources.

Support families in Lexington County so that all children enter school ready to learn.

Our Values

The years of early childhood are a critical window of development during which much of human potential is shaped.
Families are the single most important influence on the development of their young children.
School readiness is the result of a child’s development in many areas, with each contributing to the child’s success.
Services must be individualized and adaptable to meet the unique needs of children and families.
We value, and demonstrate in our collaborative work and advocacy, diverse perspectives in the development of public policy and programs.

Our work is driven by the community, for the community. We are led by a governing board of local leaders with lifelong expertise in early childhood, and supported by a dedicated staff of trusted, highly qualified, and fully committed professionals. Together, we are building a stronger foundation for Lexington County.
